Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get ASPIRE to work across a network?
At present the ASPIRE toolkit needs to be installed on each machine
but it is possible to configure all copies of ASPIRE to look at the
same archive. To do this you will need to:
- Establish a shared folder somewhere on your local network (e.g.
Aspiredata on your server)
- Map this shared folder to a drive on each machine running Aspire
(e.g. P:\)
- Under File Paths set the archive directory to point to the archive
folder on that drive (e.g. P:\archive\)
The size of the home page is too big / too small when I first load
the Excel toolkit. How can I stop that?
The home sheet is designed to sense your screen resolution and reset
the size after clicking "OK" on the popup
If you open the Excel toolkit, let it resize, then SAVE it, your settings
will be preserved and next time you load Aspire it should immediately
come up the right size
Can the height of the 1st row in the data sheet be reduced - can
only see 9 rows below in screen.
You are almost certainly viewing ASPIRE with a screen resolution
of 800 x 600. Although you can use Aspire at this resolution we
would advocate a MINIMUM screen resolution of 1024 x 768. At higher
resolutions you will be able to see many more columns and more rows
Due to angle of text in 1st row of the data sheet red 'comment'
flags occasionally appear in the wrong column
Yes we are aware of this but do not have any immediate 'fix' - it
will occur where the column widths are narrow and can be confusing.
Although the flags remain displaced it is easier to determine which
comment relates to which column at higher screen resolutions
