Version beta 0.1009 of the Aspire
toolkit is now available for download. We would recommend that you upgrade
to this version as soon as possible as it corrects a number of known problems
and also prepares the way for the latest version of the new GMS contract query
library.
Version 4 of the Aspire new GMS Contract Library
is also available for download now. PLEASE ENSURE that you have upgraded
the toolkit to version 0.1009 or later BEFORE you do this library upgrade.
This version of the library:
Is up to date with the latest version of the logical query definitions /
business rules
Allows you to set the reference date to a future date to do 'what if'
calculations for future dates - such as 01/04/2005
PLEASE NOTE: Both of these upgrades now use Microsoft Installer MSI files
which should allow for a much cleaner install and uninstall. It also
allows you to set the installation to a Drive other than C:/ which should make
it easier to install / upgrade to a central server

Version BETA 0.1006 now available for download. Adds a few new options
including the ability to handle shared servers. Corrects some minor
errors. There is also an associated upgrade of the Aspire new GMS Contract
query library which corrects a number of minor problems reported to us.
This version also enables us to run the queries for CHD, Diabetes, and Stroke as
SINGLE topics thereby providing a single summary sheet for each of these
areas. PLEASE download and install the new version of the Toolkit BEFORE
upgrading the library

Version BETA 0.1003 - minor upgrade. At some EMIS sites the patient
identifiers for some patients are not coming through on the datasheets.
This seems to be a sporadic problem typically affecting very small numbers
of patients. The system now generates a warning message and continues
to load instead of stopping with an error message. If you experience
this problem you will find datasheet lines that have no patient details
and NO DATE OF DIAGNOSIS.
This seems to be due to a discrepancy between patients
identified in the subset and those found by the final report query.
In at least some cases this has been found to be due to the way that
the diagnosis has been recorded. Changing this / completing the
record of diagnosis then rectifies the problem. In order to identify
the patients in question you will need to run a very simple test query.
These can be obtained through your local adviser or by email to AHI
If you have not already installed version 0.1001 use this version INSTEAD
but follow the same instructions. You only need to upgrade your
query library if you have not already done so as part of previous version
0.1001 upgrade

You only need to upgrade your query library if you have not already
done so as part of previous version 0.1001 upgrade

MINOR UPDATE TO ASPIRE NEW CONTRACT QUERY LIBRARY UPLOADED
This makes the handling of the "Condition resolved..." codes
conformant with the logical query definitions. Previous coding
caused problems at some InPS sites and EMIS LV sites which this upgrade
should resolve. Also some changes to the Cancer query sets making
the summary sheet easier to interpret.
The graph for Cancer reviews now only looks at patients
on the register and takes account of exclusions. Please note that
the logical query definitions stipulate that only patients with a FIRST
or NEW episode of cancer diagnosed on or after 01/04/03 should be included
on the register. Unless the Episode Type is correctly set Aspire
will therefore not include patients in the denominator. For this
reason the datasheet has columns which show ALL patients who have ever
had cancer diagnosed and the current Episode Type set for the latest
diagnostic code for cancer.
Feedback on this would be appreciated as there are significant
differences in the way that these issues are handled by the three major
systems
We hope very soon to upload an enhanced version of the
Aspire toolkit. This will represent a significant step in our
continuing collaboration with PRIMIS, and a step on the way towards
the release of a version of the toolkit to be called CHART

LATEST VERSION OF ASPIRE NEW CONTRACT QUERY LIBRARY UPLOADED
This corrects several minor issues that have recently come to light
including a solution to the problem of invisible contra-indications
to beta-blockers in the CHD query sets

NEW VERSION OF ASPIRE NEW CONTRACT QUERY LIBRARY UPLOADED
This corrects a few minor problems with summary sheets, enables EMIS
sites to view response files where some patient IDs are missing, should
enable most INPS sites to see their 'flu' vaccination results.
Also newest version 0.909 of Toolkit uploaded. You should upgrade
the toolkit before downloading the newest version of the library unless
you already have version 0908 or later. We have just been made
aware of a problem with setting the reference date which will be fixed
in the next toolkit upgrade
